What would be the best way to fit extractor hood, ie, from a spur off ring or direct to FSU on ring??

Fuse spur gives isolation and protection via the fuse, since then do need cleaning and degreasing you won't expect or want to pull the main ring mcb everytime !

Doing 1st fix then council electrican will come out and check as it comes with the B/Regs that are in place..

It can be a spur from the ring, or directly on it.

The more important consideration is venting (assuming you are venting it).

Don't use flexi duct as this decreases the efficiency. Use rigid duct with propietry bends if required. A minimum of 125mm is recommended for hoods.
