Hello. I'm after some advice about a ceiling light fitting. Whenever we put a new bulb in, it blows after just a few hours. Is this a problem with the fitting, or a more serious wiring problem? Is this something we could tackle ourselves, or should we call in an electrician? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Could be either.

Often the cable (from the ceiling rose to the lamp holder) deteriorates. Which could cause the problem, or it could be the lamp holder contacts.

Or something else.....

Good luck with it.

Thanks for your replies. It's a standard screw in pendant light. Sorry, I'm not very good wth all this!!
