Hi - I am having to replace a wall down one side of the garden that "blew" down during the recent high gales in north wales. I have decided to go with concrete posts and vetical timber panels. I have erected quite a few fences using timber posts which are pretty straight forward but never concrete posts.
THE QUESTION: what gap would you recommend to allow for expansion at each side of the panels. I was thinking of using 5mm strip packers at each end of the fence panels giving 10mm in all - is this too much to allow.
I appreciate your responses

The concrete gravel board are 10mm wider than the fence panel, so yes 10mm or less would be okay for the concrete slotted post. In the high wind area I fit panel like these to allow air flow to prevent blowing out !

thanks for that - I didn't realise the gravel boards were wider so that's solved my problem.
Thanks again - Col
