Ferolli Boiler

Both sensors need to be changed on these.
(Sort of) true. Yes - they're sold in pairs. But there's little variation in the resistance values, old to new. And the replacements are not actually 'matched pairs' as such, AFAIK.

Sorry just seen this post again....when there is a demand the pcb checks both ntcs are in range, if either are not the chb will shut down temporarily with no fault indicator and then go through sequence again.

After several years, I finally bottomed the problem on my Modena 80, which kept shutting down when running DHW.
The overheat stat on the upper left hand side of the heat exchanger was operating at around 50 deg, instead of 100. It's actually a mechanical device operated by a bi-metal pad - The excess force of the spring clip used to mount it pushed in the face plate in slightly, causing it to switch off at a much lower temperature than it should.
A new stat, and modified clip has the boiler running much better than it ever did.
Careful when renewing this - It operates at 240v.

Almost certain the boiler does not have a diverter. If someone says the diverter is the cause of the malfunction (when no diverter is fitted in the boiler), I would be turning a deaf ear to replacement of PCB.

Burner fires for HW water. Burner heats primary water in the heat exchanger. This heat is transfered to cold water flowing in the same heat exchanger. Pump does NOT run for hot water demand.

For CH, burner fires, primary water heats in the heat exchanger and PUMP moves the water. If pump does not run, is blocked or set to slow speed, burner will shut down after a few moments.

Ask you dummy engineer to familiarise himself with boiler opration before he starts recomending replacement of parts that may not be there or have noting to do with the malfunction in the first place.
