Hi, I have got a 2007 Fiat Scudo and today the engine started to overheat. I have checked the coolant and seems to be ok. There are two hoses which are connected to the radiator, one is hot and one is cold, also the heater has stopped working. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Thanks Dave

The lack of a heater could be due to lost coolant, the most likely problem is thermostat failure, if the bottom radiator hose doesn't get hot at all it shows the water isn't circulating, the only other possible cause I can think of would be water pump failure - if in fact those engines suffer with that problem. It could possibly be head gasket failure that would cause the water to be blown out of the filler/overflow pipe but then I would still expect the bottom hose to get hot.
