Filler on skirting once painted

Painting white MDF skirtings and have filled the nail holes and painted an undercoat and primer, and two coatings of quick dry satinwood. I can still see where I've filled over the nails though, either a slight bump where I've not sanded enough or a slight curve where I guess I should've applied more.

Is there any tips to at least minimise this? I mean it doesn't look too bad, but bugging me at the same time at not being as good as id of hoped

You should notice anything not filled properly during the undercoating process, so you should be able to rectify before the topcoat.
 
You've answered your own question really. You need to make sure you fill then sand flush.

As the chaps say don't fill before applying paint. Sand down with a 60-80 grit, should only take a few swipes and then paint over with the finishing satin, don't bother applying each layer individually again :LOL:
