Has anyone used the Intumescent Paint recently and can give some feedback. My builder said he used it a few years back and it was like working with treacle and gave a poor finish. He suggest stripping the doors and using the Intumescent Varnish. Any :D :D ody got feedback they can share. Thanks

Make sure your inspector will accept this method of fire proofing before you go any further as some do and some do not. It also depends on the doors as to whether they lend themselves to such an upgrade or not. Also if this is part of an HMO make sure the HMO inspector will accept this form of upgrade too.

Thanks - Yes the building Inspector is cool with the coating idea t who is HMO? Which do you prefer the paint or the varnish? Thanks

Only ever seen the varnish done, looked OK. HMO is housing for multiple occupation, if this is just a single dwelling for use by one family then it won't apply.

Thankfully its just our home. Phew don't need any more hurdles to jump over. Thanks for your time.
