Fitting a Letterbox internal plate

Ok ... i'm the first to admit my DIY skills are pretty limited but consider myself of average intelligence, but for the life of me, cannot see how this letterbox internal plate is supposed to fit. Bought from Wickes with no instructions :mad: :mad:

I've attached photos, i can see the lip on the inside of the plate which i assume the brackets slide into but unable to see how this then attaches to the door as the angle of the bracket seems all wrong. Also fail to see how the plate will swivel to let the posted item in.

Any tips would be appreciated

the brackets have pimples on them

the plate has the top edge folded over

the fold leaves a gap

the pimples fit into the gap

the plate pivots on the pimples

fix brackets with pimples at top facing inward
 
my one rattles, it looks like yours has foam or felt to make it quiet, and maybe reduce draughts. that right?
