fixing a towl radiator to wall

bought a towel radiator to fit in the bathroom, house is about 100 years old and i live by the seaside, so most walls i have encountered in the house so far are made up of a mixture of thing, (mainly beach like pebbles). previous experience with trying to hang things on the walls with any weight has been a pain, any suggestions or ideas so i can make sure this get's securely fixed to the wall ?

fix battons and use gyproc plasterboard to give a false wall.
Ensure the fixings for the radiator screw into the battons.
