Hi
I discovered water dripping down the wall in our upstairs bedroom. We have a flat roof, not sure how old it is. I want o replace it, heard about the rubber roof, has anyone used this or had it installed, is it any good and how much does it cost. My partner wants to patch the problem but I would rather fix the whole roof! Thanks

How old is the flat roof? Be sure that it is the flat roof leaking before having it repaired/re-done. Rubber roofs are ok if done correctly and with a decent grade membrane but tend to be expensive in comparrison to felt, I would suggest a traditional 3 layer felt system.
Also, if the flat roof is the problem, then remember that patching will ony be a temporary solution and in the long run it will need doing properly.

been doing flat roofs for years and the three layer felt and primer method was the best you can give 15 yr guarantees with no problem however on completing a course on the fibreglass resin method there is no way i will go back to felt if i dont have to
the new stuff is 15% more expensive but quicker to do so a decent tradesman will charge the same money as felt but you will get 25yr guarantee
