I have fiited 12 x 35W spots in my kitchen (420W) which are controlled from a touch type dimmer switch rated to 500W. They are fine when on 100%, but as soon as they are dimmed to anything less they flicker. They are 240V.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Cheers

Are the spots low voltage or extra low voltage?

Is the dimmer designed for halogen loads, or does it need to be derated for this?

If the lights are ELV, what type of transformers did you use?

Thanks for the quick reply,

The spots are LV and the dimmer is designed for halogen loads.

Cheers.

Thanks RF Lighting

Hi....i know you're sorted but could you tell me if you have 12 trannies for your 12 fittings and if so whats the rating of the transformers.......also...what was the max wattage of the replacement dimmer? cheers :)

johnnykc, no transformers used as these are 240V light fittings.

The dimmer I have used is max 400W (chrome type from b&q £11.99) controlling 350W (10 x 35W bulbs, I have now removed 2 or them)
