I am about to fit a stovax studio 1 cassette(flush fit) wood burning stove .
what i would like to know is do you need to fit a liner for building regs ?
I know that it is considered safer but the house was built in 1966 with 7" ceramic liners . in my thinking these are a better option but the fire rep is trying to sell me the lining and fitment (so it complies with Heptas) for £750 (he won't sign off if i fit) on top of an £1800 fire his reasons are there is know way of stopping debris coming down the flue and falling on top of the fire .
Anyway if it has to be done so be it but would appreciate a second opinion
many thanks in advance.
