The flue restrictor popped out of my Heat&Glo LP Fireplace, GEM-42B after a windstorm.
Must I put it back?
What is the function of it?
The restrictor should be 1 3/4 inch size for my 35foot vent vertical run. However it appears the installer put the wrong one in --- the restrictor that popped out is 1 1/2 inches (which is correct for natural gas, but I have LP gas which calls for 1 3/4 inch restrictor).
The flame seems smaller than it should be. Does the restrictor have anything to do with this?
Thank you.
