I have enclosed some photos of my boiler flue, and how close it is to our bathroom window. If there is some who knows the legalities of this kind of thing, i would like to know if I can ask my landlord to move it (seems difficult as it is on the boundary of another property, and would really like him to install a new boiler in a different position.

Could be why its got a "condemed" sticker on it.

Someone should be along shortly but I thought it was 300 mm horizontally from a window.

That is quite simply not a DIY subject. Get on to your landlord straight away and insist that a Gas Safe Engineer be sent to put things right.

It is your landlords problem and it does not make any difference on how difficult it is to resolve. Its a very serious issue if Landlords do not deal with Gas Applicance problems. If you are unsure of your rights, pop down to the C.A.B. (Citizens Advice Bureau) so they can point you in the right direction to get some action on it.
