Hi i'm in the process of buying a house and the survey has high lighted that the roof and timbers have been insulated with foam and that this is not good
I understand the implications of sealing the timber and the potential for leaks or condensation to cause rot but do i rip it all out or leave?
there are no signs of any leaks or of the roof drooping in any places?
Any info would be appreciated cheers

Something like this http://www.renotherm.co.uk/ I would guess?

As far as I know there isn't any way to rip it out - if you've ever used expanding foam filler you'll know it sticks like s**t to the proverbial blanket! So you'll be stuck with it until the roof has to come off or the place falls down. But at least the tiles shouldn't fall off.
