I bought this underlay from UK Flooring Direct this week:
It was delivered yesterday and I noticed that it has a very thin 10cm "skirt" on one side (see attached photo)
I wasn't sure what this was for. I contacted them and - to my amazement - they've basically said "dunno".
My best guess is that this is intended to overlap a bit when you fit the next piece alongside - to help with preventing moisture coming up from below etc. Is that the likely reason it's there, or could there be some other explanation?
