I'm a bit new to this but I think I have a gravity feed DHW system.

I have forced air heating, which still works, but no hot water.

When I turn on the hot water on the boiler I hear a click but no other noise and the pipes leading to the hot water tank are cold.

The pilot light on the boiler is on.

When I removed the cover to the boiler there does seem to be a pump of some sort but not the normal big red one you often see on central heating systems.

Any ideas how I can find out what might be wrong with this system?

OK, after a bit more research I have found out the water heater is a Johnson and Starley JANUS6.

AND the pilot light is out! (I was looking at the air heater before - didn't realise they were 2 separate things).

Got the manual from J&S website (thank you J&S )

However I have followed the instructions and cant get it to light!

I'm not sure the ignition is producing a spark, what can I (safely) do about this? (Use a match?)

Yeah, that worked :D

Is it worth trying to replace the piezo ignitor?
Guess the other option is to keep a box of matches handy!

He was only asking a free question!
