I would guess you have blown a fuse.I would double check your repair before replacing fuse tho.
Fuse = 20mm 1 amp quick blow ( there may be a spare inside the case )

thanks for the reply

i have checked the fuses and they seem fine

on the keypad the red power and green day lights are on also the tamper light is on but the buttons are unresponsive.

The keypad was completely dead before i started the repair(no lights on)

I replaced the blown keypad fuse after i repaired the severed cable.

This brought the keypad back to life

The keypad is powered up now just willnot let me press anything

Disconnect all power and reboot the system (including the battery).

No need to downpower, you have a tamper fault. This will cause the system to become unresponsive until it is resolved.

Where does the cable you have repaired go to? Sounds like it could be the external sounder. Are you sure you have joined all the cables back together correctly, with none of them touching each other?

Also, have you replaced the panel lid properly after you checked the fuses?

Cable runs from the panel to the keypad.

panel lid is fine

i will double check the repair
