hi there , i am wondering if someone can help :) . i have got a standard lamp with a long thin bulb (the same as the ones that are in security lights)with a dimmer on it and the fuse blew ,it is 20mm long x 5mm wide x 6 amp but it is not a clear glass fuse but solid and i dont know if it is a slow blow or an antisurge can anyone help!!!! :confused:

look carefully at the metal caps - it should be marked with a type code an rating. Post answer here.

ALthough it's pretty likely to be a quick blow type if protecting a dimmer.

it actually says 1.6 H 250v
 
I know F is Quick blow, and T is anti-surge(slow blow) but not sure about H
Does it look ceramic, if so they are often high breaking capacity (HBC) which may explain the H.

it means it has no time delay in action. Read Normal Operation compared to Fast blow or Timed
