Hi

The picture is from a UK garage roof, part of a block of external garages, built probably early 1980s.

The roof looks to be in good condition, apart from minor chunks missing like on the left of the picture. I don't see any signs of flaking. I notice that there is a blue tinge on the edge of the sheets. I couldn't find any words/markings anywhere.

I guess given the age it is probably asbestos?

It's an external lock-up garage that I will use for storage. So, I could get it tested but I'm thinking it's probably harmless and just leave it alone? Would appreciate any advice.

If it is in good condition and you're only using the garage for storage, save the fifty quid you'd spend on the test.

Looks like asbestos, only way to be 100% is testing, but if in ok condition and not going to be disturbed should be ok. I think you can get a sealer for it.

Although the dangers of asbestos have been known for decades it wasn't fully banned till 1999 so could well be asbestos
