We have a gas boiler: in order for it to fire up, the thermostat needs to be above 30 degree and once it reaches a certain temperature it cuts out. I take it the thermostat needs to be replaced?

Can it be replaced by a DIYer or does it need a CORGI guy.
If it can be replaced by a DIYer can it be easy purchased and replaced.

'gas boiler' is not very specific for us to offer advice.

That description applies to any correctly working boiler !
