I have a gas cooker hob which I find is "gunged up" on one burner -so much so that the gas is not getting thro to ignite. I am guessing that some foodstuff as boiled over blocking the outlet for the gas. Can anyone recommend a fluid to clean it out or some other method please .

Contact the cooker's manufacturer and ask them for a new injector to replace the gunked up one.

Alternatively; you could try compressed air - You should not insert anything to clear the blockage unless you know what you are doing as it could alter the injector size and as such, effect the amount of gas passed to the burner.

If you were competent you could remove the jet and boil it in some boiling water and see if that disolved the contaminate.
