gas central heating not igniting

When switching on the heating and water, the boiler does not ignite as a result the radiators are cold and there is no hot water. We have a Potterton Kingfisher boiler. Can someone please help?

have you checked the fuse in the spur? first port of call.

Thanks Ollski. Just checked the fuse and its ok. Any ideas what the next step in determining the fault would be? Would appreciate your help here.

Called in a plumber who says that a valve needs replacing but not until Tuesday. So no heating until then!

yep the gas valve.....i was getting to that!!
