Hi, Last year we had a gas fire fitted to our lounge external wall, with the cold weather coming we have noticed such a terrible draught coming from under the fire. kinda between the hearth and the fire, i have been round to the external flue vent type thing and sealed it up with underlay , bags and gaffer tape, which made no difference at all, we dont intend using the fire as the central heating is fine, but this draught is now overpowering the heat from the radiators.
Any ideas why ?, i did notice the fitters knocked a big hole in the wall just to fit such a small fire. ? Or could it be something to do with the wall cavity and would cavity wall insulation solve this riddle ??
Regards
