Hi Guys, not sure if this is in the correct category. I need to change my kitchen worktop. The worktop has a gas worktop hob. I haven't checked what type of connection it has going to it but I am assuming it's rigid copper pipe going straight into the hob as I remember reading that those flexible connectors are not safe. My question is, I will isolate the gas supply and after loosening the nut at the hob end and take the hob off, when it comes to connecting it back after the new worktop is in place, do I need to apply anything on the threads and is there anything to check for any leaks on the joint? e.g soapy water?

Afraid to say for disconnecting and refitting the gas hob,you will need the service of a registered gas operative.

you know it makes sense
