Hi everyone, just hoping for some advice from the experts.....
I currently have a very old (circa 30yrs) system boiler with hot and cold water tanks in my 1 bedroom ground floor flat. I'm planning to replace this with a combi boiler in the next few weeks, my question is really around the size of boiler I should have fitted.
Although it's only 1 bedroom, my flat is a decent size with 6 rooms and a central hall. There are currently 6 radiators and I'd like another one fitted. There's a single bathroom and the only other sink is in the kitchen. I measured my mains water flow rate at 20 litres a minute (I filled a 15l bucket in 45s). The boiler will go in the dressing room, just off the bathroom.
The plan is to get the boiler and central heating sorted then redo the bathroom, fitting a very good walk in shower run off the combi. Love a good shower
I really want to make sure I get good hot water flow rate for the shower with the boiler I fit. My heating engineers have recommended the Worcester Greenstar 28i or the Alpha CDC28c. They have also suggested the Worcester 30cdi but say they normally fit this in larger detached properties and it might be too powerful for my flat.
I'm inclined to go for the 30cdi but am not sure if having something too powerful causes its own problems? What would you recommend?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered,
Jen
