What I meant by the "bucket" was the heat store part, which is something around 36 x 16 I expect, though hard to judge cos it's covered up. I have the manual somewhere. Would have thought that if it builds up a depth of sludgy goo in the bottom, it wouldn't be very good at storing and giving up its heat.
The man at Gledhill said that the manual isn't on their site because they didn't have computers back then. Ryeeeeet
