See photo. Radiator symbol constantly flashing and radiators always on
Have hive which shows hot water and radiator off. Only way to turn radiators off is to switch power off to the boiler.
Tried restarting boiler then it just settles back to same display and radiators hot
Was wondering if it was the trivalve problem. Had that in past and changed it but this time don’t even have control of temp to be able to switch off the burners

Check that the low voltage link on the pcb has been removed, if it has then probably a sticking micro switch on a motorised valve

hhmm interesting recently had a new hub but it has ehthernet cable direct to hive transmitter ... with a seperate wireless thermostat... so didnt think anything had to logged in etc.. due to ethernet ?? or do i still have to re-connect the new hub to the hive system even with an ethernet cable direct to the hive transmitter ??????

The Hive transmitter is the thermostat, the receiver is the part wired to the zone valves, you dont have an ethenet cable connected to the hive thermostat

apologies 40yrs in telecoms industry you would think i would describe it correctly..t .. .......the ethernet is connected to the hive nano hub which is what i should have said which of course is a receiver and transmitter.. ... with the sole receiver connected to the boiler...

with the sole receiver connected to the boiler..
The receiver does not connect to the boiler it connects to the mid position valve, what you call a Tri-valve, the mid position valve connects to the boiler and tells it when to come on, nothing on any part of the Hive connects to the boiler, they may share a L&N supply but nothing else, the hive doesnt directly control the boiler

oh dear a bit of terminology again ... ...correct...... the receiver is not actually connected to the boiler..,., but i am fairly confident the boiler is connected to the wall ....

and the reason for my issue of the continual flashing radiatior is ? now ive been corrected on the mechanics of the system ( and what is and isnt connected )

sorry your other posts were bad but I have no Idea what you are asking with this one

think i,ll knock this thread on the head and speak to my nephew whose a plumber.. just didn't want to bother him as he has always given up his time and just didnt want to lean on him again especially at these horrendous times....always been very very helpful and at times asked meaningful questions where needed , .... rather than just spending his time trying to make out how clever he is at plumbing ... and lording over people ....
you know...i think I'm going to revisit my threads and the help i gave on on telecoms problems and see if i can re-word it so i can show how knowledgeable i am on my specialist subject and show how clever i am by just correcting peoples comments ....

such fun ...

thanks again to anyone responding ...especially the private messages.. very helpful..

Take care , stay safe.,..we will get through these times TOGETHER

sorry that you feel like that , but with any question , shoite in shoite out, if you dont tell us what you have how can we possibly answer you, good luck with your nephew hope he speaks you language

What everyone is trying to say is that your problem is with the 3 way valve not doing what it should. If the Hive is not demanding heat, then the boiler is being fed by the 3 way valve which is stuck in the heating position, or the end switch in the valve is stuck. My best guess, if the light is flashing but your radiators are not hot is the latter. If the rads are getting hot, then the valve is stuck, probably with a seized synchron motor.
Throwing dollies out of the pram doesn't help anyone.
