I have just finished insulating the house and now need to replace the trv's on the rads so each individual room will shut of the rad when temp is reached, there are masses of them out there nowadays and i have no idea as to what is good value for money or not, i think, and correct me if i'm wrong, the way forward are liquid trv's. :?:

Liquid trvs react quicker to room temperature so if used correctly as trv's should be they are the best choice.
My weapon of choice is the Danfoss range, C2 generally, or D2 for fancy dans.
Many people like the Drayton ones as well, its just personal choice.
but i would stick to one of those 2 brands personally for liquid valves.

Best Valves for accuracy and reliabillity (i.e not sticking closed!)
Honeywell VT117 good value as well! ;)

If you want the TRVs to work properly, you must Balance the system.

Danfoss, Drayton and Honeywell all make good TRVs. Liquid are more reliable and have a better response.

Don't forget that the rad in the area where the wall stat is located must not have a TRV fitted.
