...“Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected,” he wrote. “I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand.”...

Anyone remember Jack Newton? Another top aussie golfer who got sliced up accidentally. Poor fcker walked into the propellor of a plane he was about to board, he survived, just, but was very badly cut up about it.

According to another newsfeed, hospital reported slight nerve damage, which was easily and completely repairable. Will be able to play golf in a few weeks.

Not quite the same as having his hand chopped off, is it? More sensationalist reporting then

(Not having a pop at the OP, just the report that they were informed by).

Where did it say his hand was chopped off?
Surely an unintended slice of flesh with an out of control chainsaw is as near a disaster as you could get - I saw nothing wrong with the first report.

"narrowly avoided losing his hand"
"still have left hand"
Both from original link. First couple of lines, too.

Applying your logic, I'm pretty sure most of us narrowly cheat death on an hourly basis.

It is only a story because he is famous. Imho
