Its a white bathroom sink so no issue with colour matching.
I'm considering rubbing over the surface with fine wet n dry and getting an aerosol spray of enamel paint to cover the hairline cracks.

If this is practical, are there any issues I need to consider for the task?

Is it a porcelain handbasin?

New basins are quite cheap.

Is there a shelf or cupboard over it?

Yes, its a porcelain handbasin and there's a small cupboard on the wall above.

As you say, new porcelain handbasins are less than £100 so maybe I'll consider that option. Thanks!

The relevance of the cupboard is that when glass jars and bottles fall out, they cause cracks.

A plain mirror avoids such damage.
