I am frankly appalled at some of the attitudes expressed in this thread. Some of you seem to think that being poor and black means you deserve to have a building to fall on you.
I wonder how much the hard-working 1% plutocracy will be contributing to clearing up 50,000 corpses (that's a quarter of Northampton's population!). It makes our recent problems trivial in comparison.

A poor county and it's just become even poorer, very sad for the kids as always,all of a sudden they find themselves all alone without parents.

Haiti was the world's first black run independent state. The official religion is voodoo. murder and rape are rife. Ten percent of the population have HIV.
The ex despotic ruler embezzled millions in aid given by gullible givernments over the years. He also had all black dogs on the island killed, because he believed that his enemy had been re-incarnated as a dog.
We were just pointing out the facts. Its about par for the course for any African run country, ie. hopeless.

International child aid is starting to arrive in Haiti after the earthquake has left 50000 kids under 10 orphaned and alone to fend for themselves.

Don't worry, that was a few years ago. That leader was overthrown in a violent military coup. And we moan about our political leaders!
Probarbly why i got no sick money this week. 45minute phone call, at least, what the fu,,c is going on, always, other people come before me,(except the elderly), but they don't matter anymore, HHmm, in fact, they are a nusiance.
