my halstead ace combi boiler does not work on hot water only setting .it works fine with heating and hot water setting.when u turn the hot water tap on its cold water it does not fire up. i have had a look and the valve that turns the electric switch to light the boiler etc does not come out it does a little but not enought to reach the microswitch. i have modifyed the switch to turn on by bending it inside the hot water comes on fires it up but the water is only slightly warm. maybe its the pressure valve or is it maybe the unit its attached to any help would be great. its 4 years old light use

If you mean the pin doesn't come out enough then it sounds as though you have a diaphragm problem and needs replacing.

If water is only warm then once the diaphragm has been replaced check whether the ch flow is getting hot when hot tap is on.

Not too familiar with Halsteads, so the above assumes they use a diaphragm to trigger the microswitch.

Im assuming you've bent the arm on the micro switch.

You may be losing power to the CH which is why its not getting very hot.

Replace the diaphragm in the big brass housing on the right hand side.

If the diverter valve pin is not coming out fully then the boilers heat output is split between the radiators and the hot water so you dont get fully hot water.
