Hardcore base for Block Paving

I'm after some advice please on using road scrapings or chippings as a hardcore base for my block paved drive.Does it knit together good enough when wackered down.the reason i ask is because it's a lot cheaper then mot1
Any advice is welcome.

no not as good, thats why its cheaper than mot type1. Thats why youll be digging your drive back up again when it sinks!

Road scrapings hold more water as well, making the bedding sand wetter and more liable to sinkage if its a wet area. For all the cost difference , you'd be better to go with good old type 1 crushed stone
