Hi
Recently I had a drainage channel put in around the outside of my house. It is made of concrete and should have water proofer through it.
We have just had our first decent rainfall since the work was carried out and I noticed that the concrete channel is two shades, one light where it is dry on the upper half, the other dark where it has soaked in the water.
I have little experience of waterproof concrete; does the fact the lower half of the channel appears to be damp suggest that the builder did not use water proofer, or is this normal?
I have attached a picture which hopefully makes more sense of what I am asking.
(The channel is currently full of old tender that I have been removing from the wall and this is obviously a contributing factor to the water remaining in situ)
Many thanks to any help from the masses,
Regards
N.
Sor not sure how to get the photo into the post itself below is a link to the album it is the only photo in there!
