When I run my central heating system on "Hot water" only the radiators at the furthest part of the run are getting hot. This is a problem during the summer as I have to switch off the Central heating system and run on the immersion heater. My system is open evented, fully pumped with seperate divertor valves for the Central heating and hot water. The boiler is an Ideal Concord WRS50 approx. 20 years old. I have changed both divertor valves as I thought that one of them was sticking open but the problem reamins. Any ideas would be appreciated. :(

Sounds like you may have a problem with reverse circulation.

To check have the system cold and then turn on the heating only. Take note of which pipe on the offending radiators gets hot first. Turn off and let the system cool then turn on the Hot Water only. If the opposite pipe now gets hot then it is revered circ. Normally caused by incorrect pipework installation. The return pipe from the cylinder should be the last one before going back to the boiler. Commonly caused by someone trying to cut corners/save pipework when installing a new radiator or even when the system was installed.

Thanks for the advice.

It's strange that the system has been installed for about 20 years but the problem has only developed in the last year. I'll have to keep on looking.
