Hi.
Have a bit of a problem with my GlowWorm 40FF. The boiler has been in for a couple of years and has worked quite well until recently (it's been off for a couple of months now).

When I got back I found out that there was a considerable amount of water inside the unit, it had come in through the exhaust fume pipe thanks to a leak form my upstairs neighbour. The slow dripping was being pushed into the unit by the air draft. (I wonder if the exhaust pipe should not have been fixed with a degree of downwards inclination to avoid this??)

Any way, the PCB board was completely soaking wet, so after draining the bottom of the unit (it has a V shape) and carefully cleaning it, the unit lit and showed the reset light on and the burner light blinking. So, I reset the unit, which went through the lighting process 3 times (where it fully lit as if it was working correctly and then shut the gas down).

Don't really know what to do now. Water is still coming through the exahust pipe, until we manage to find the neighbour and seal the leak. But I would really like to know how to proceed towards fixing it once we solve the leak thing.
I read from Fitz1 something about changing the solenoid, others mention the Thermistor and lastly, changing the PCB (which I'll probably have to do).

Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Cold Alex.
PS: Could someone recommend a GlowWorm Micron spares store in London?

would suspect the PCB if it got wet, make sure you get the right one for your model of boiler, you will need the serial number.

Hi twgas.

Yes, that is what I thought. Could you recommend anywhere to buy it?

You might as well check every electrical part that possibly has been wet for water damage. solenoids and fans don't like water much either. these are corgi jobs though.
as this sounds like an insurance claim, i would recommend getting a pro in for the whole job as diy might well invalidate a claim
