We have recently moved into a newish house that is wired for standard TV and Virgin cable. The previous owner only had SKY but we only want to use digital TV freeview.
In the loft are three unmarked wires and three more marked bed1, 2 & 3. One of the unmarked wires did have a Return label which is lost. There are female TV sockets in three bedrooms and one in the lounge.
I have fitted an aerial in the loft which works fine if a bedroom cable is connected. However, I cannot get any of the unmarked wires to work in the lounge. Also if I did want a TV in a bedroom, I cannot see that four or more wires can be wired directly into the aerial and presume that there should be some sort of hub, or four aerials! . Basically I'm not bothered about a TV in a bedroom but would like one in the lounge. Going back the the Return thing, the aerial socket in the lounge is marked Return in the actual plastic faceplate.
I cannot see why any of the three unmarked cables won't get a signal into the lounge.
Any help appreciated
