HELP! somethings gone wrong :(

Hi all, newbie here.

Basically, at the moment im around a friends house at the moment and we something has happened to trip the rcd unit so that none of the electricity works apart from all of the lights. as i said im a newbie so tell me what you need to know and please help me!

If you have plugged in something that is 'suspect' electrically then the RCD would pop at the board.

If the RCD won't reset, unplug or turn off everyting on the sockets. With luck the RCD can then be reset. The suspect item should identify itself when you start going round turning things back on- because it's likely to cause the circuit to trip again.

the RCD may need to be pushed down before it will lock upwards, in the on position.
