For some time we have ha an open type gas fire in a brick recess with a kopex flue line.
We have now bought a new flueless gas fire that fits into the opening ,on reading the instructions before getting a gas fitter to do the connection, I see that you should not place this fire within 500mm of a flue.
My question is how do we block up the lining , and won't we the have a problem of condensation in it when it is blocked, bearing in mind it could still be open at the chimney.
I'd be gratefull for any assistance on this .
Thanks Mick
