Hello there.

Just tried to change one of our light fittings and need some advice...

Old property with old red/black with red sleeve/black/earth wiring. Old fitting was single bulb with live, neutral, 'Loop In' and earth. 3 sets of wires from ceiling - 2x red, black, earth; 1x red, black w/red sleeve and earth. Being a tw*t, I didn't note and mark which wire went where.
New fitting just has just L, N and Earth. I take it I have to maintain some kind of ring with a junction block (since I now only have one light downstairs working...) so how do I wire this please?

Thanks in advance.

Put the three reds in a connector.

Black with the red sleeve into 'L' terminal.

Other two blacks into the neutral term ;)

BTW domestic lighting is wired as a 'radial' circuit as opposed to a ring (which are used for socket outlets).
