the machine goes through it's cycle - appears to spin - but the clothes are still very wet. just put it on to spin again - couldn't open the door at first as water left in the drum. the filter's clear - any ideas?

not worked on hoover washers before but basically all machines run very similar. the water is not being pumped away during drain part of the programme leaving clothes wet which in turn will not allow the machine to go into full spin mode.it appears to be a partial/full blockage somewhere from the pipe from the bottom of the drum (sump pipe) through to the pump then from the pump through the drain pipe to your waste outlet. A very common occurance I used to find was a 5pence peice lodged either in the pump impellar or if it survived through the pump it is exactly the same diameter as the drain pipe. and used to swivell in the pipe acting as a open close valve giving intermittent drain operations. You will need a good strong pair of plyers to open the pipe clips off the hoses to inspect

double check the washer is unpluuged from electrical socket before working on machine
