Hoover Performa 1100

I am having problems with my Hoover Performa 1100 when I put it on cycle 9 (delicates) it either stays at just after 9 and keeps spinning or does the cycle again and again & will not stop!!
Any ideas of what the problem could be any help much appreciated as have 2 boys so as you can imagine I do alot of washing!!
