Just recently I have hot water coming out of the cold tap. It is only in the bathroom on the upstairs of our maisonette. Anybody know why it's happening?

Any help is gratefully appreciated!

For how long is it running hot.

Chances are it is just the pipes running side by side a heating pipe.

Alternatively, depending on your set up (i.e., mains cold water everywhere else) you system could be going haywire and the cold water storage tank is getting heated by the vent for the cylinder blowing over.

You'll need to give much more info though.

Thanks for your reply! We have a combi boiler and we have no water tank and this has only been happening recently.

do you have a thermostatic shower/bath mixer.

could be non return valves failed/stuck allowing back flow
