My washing machine has started leaving oil like marks on my clothes with the imprint of the drum. It has also started making a lot of noise during the spin cycle - almost like a tube train. Not sure if the two are connected any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the drum bearings or drum support have gone.
Does the inner drum move up and down when you lift the front edge without the outer moving.
Other causes could be something caught in the drum and the a build up of gunk in the machine but more common is failed bearings.
If you have a look at the rear of the drum are there any rusty water marks around the centre behind the pully wheel.
