I have the CTD40G condenser dryer which no longer heats. The board on which the elements were wrapped around has broken causing the elements to touch each other, leading to sparks and now no heat.
I have searched and found the part I need - C00260045 which is approx £50. I would hate to pay that kind of money (family of 4, elec, gas bills etc etc). My question is, were do all broken appliances go, surely they cant all be scrapped? If there were 2 faulty ones, I'm fairly sure you could make 1 working 1. Is there a charity maybe that provides washers/dryers to people that can't afford new?
Does anyone know of someone who recycles parts from broken appliances and sells them on? Thanks in advance.
