hotpoint ctd80 condensor tripping electric

Hi guys i have a Hotpoint ctd80 condensor dryer that was tripping out the electrics and after searching google i found out about the water channel blocking at the back and flicking water onto the element ...I have cleaned the whole machine out of fluff and water and replaced the heater element( which was water damaged) and it still trips the electrics, the time it takes to trip can vary and as soon as i reset the electric the dryer has kept its digital timer at the same time as it was before tripping ...i can hear a click in the main control box when it trips...i have exhausted all my ideas please help if you can
