Hotpoint First Edition 1200 WM53 washing machine problem

My Hotpoint First Edition 1200 WM53 worked fine, but today when I turned it on the water went straight out of the waste pipe. Also, could you tell me where the filter is because I think this might be the cause of the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
