With the bad weather we havnt done much of the washing as there wasnt anywhere to really dry it. So anyway, after about a week of not using the washing machine there was quite a bit of washing to do.

So we put the first load in, it was washed as usual. The the second load and that was washed as normal. Then about an hour later the 3rd load went in, the machine started as normal and drew water in, then turned once, turned twice and then all stop. All the lights are still on, just not moving anymore or doing anything else. So switched it off for 5 minutes, started it again, it did exactly the same thing again. And since then for the 5th time now of switching it off and on thats all its doing, just drawing in water, turning twice and stopping.

Any ideas on this please?

There is someone else on this forum saying it may be the heating element thats not heating the water up so the washing machine is actually waiting for that to happen???

WF440 flash an error code if the heater is faulty or it takes too long to heat.

The first part of most washes is a cold rinse so it does not wait for a heater.

Ok, this isnt flashing anything, all the right buttons are lit up, but just stay lit, nothing flashes.

But heres a critical update though . . . . . my mum put in about a gallon of water via the detergent drawer and hey presto it started working. Then she had to put in another gallon later on so that they would get rid of the detergent and clean properly.

Am assuming theres a pump or something that draws in water?
