Hi Alarm experts

We have a TS700 Intruder Alarm Control Panel and the display is 'lb' which I believe is battery low.
Just removed the two screws on the front of the panel to see what and where the battery is, and set the whole alarm off - oops sorry neighbours!!
Does anyone know how easy it is to replace the battery, what size voltage etc i need to get, and how to stop the alarm going off when i remove the panel.
Please help - Thanks in advance
Regards
Neil

Enter the code, remove the front panel, lok at what the battery is, replace front panel, re enter code/reset panel to shut it up if it's gone off.
go purchase new battery (likely a 12v 2.6ah-3ah SLA - maplins etc).
open front panel again, remove battery & fit new one making sure to put the battery leads on the correct way around. reset panel.
Go have brew, don't worry about neighbours as it should only take a few seconds to do what's required.

You might find the manual by searching on Google.
I.E. "ts700 manual pdf" = here

Thanks mattylad - you make it sound so easy!
I'll give it a go - if there's a riot in Hertfordshire you'll know that I did something wrong
Cheers

Have read through the manual - nothing on battery change.
Probably means that an alarm company can charge a fortune to call out and do it themselves - oh aren't i synical
Thanks again
Neil

the neighbours will not have heard anything.

its a ts700. When unset removing the lid creates a tamper, tamper when unset only makes the internal speaker go.

Most, if not all panels are now like this.

Hi Breezer
Thanks for your info - you seem to be very knowlegeable regarding alarms.
Can you advise me as to the battery exchange please.

Neil, what more do you need to know?

Have you had a look what battery is currently there as I suggested?

Neil all you have to do is go out and buy a 7ah battery from an electrical wholesale they will know what you are on about then remove the lid off the main control panel and remove the battery and date the new battery and fit the connecters red to red and black to black and then refit the lid on and then enter you code and ecs on your keypad.

To all of you who gave me such helpful information - THANK YOU VERY MUCH
